Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo Sportfishing Report

July 2004

This report from Gitana Charters, Mar y Tierra Sportfishing and Whisky Water World

The blue water is from the beach to about 8 miles offshore but variable due to unseasonable evening showers.   Boats are raising averaging 3-5 Sailfish releases per day with good fishing pressure.   The tuna are sporadic and a fair number of Dorado are in the area.

Marlin are scarce.

The Roosterfish continue to cruise the beach with many larger fish taken but the Jack Crevalle and Sierras are beating them to the lures and baits.
