   The Sea and Sand Experience (Experiencia Mar y Tierra S.A. de C. V.) is a family owned sport fishing and water activity business that takes pride in our ability to treat our clients on a personal level. We are a small enough business that each guest gets individual attention to their agenda or requirements.
   We are backed by the reputation that 9 out of 10 previous clients will repeat when they vacation again in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo. We let you customize your sport fishing experience so that we can help fulfill your expectations of a memorable vacation. 		   Whether you want to go offshore and target giant tuna in excess of 200 pounds, catch a blue marlin, or release several sailfish, the serious fisherman will find that we have everything it takes for serious fishing.
   One of our most popular trips the whole family enjoys, is to fish a half a day and then head over to Ixtapa Island to lunch on your fresh caught fish. You can sit under the shade of a palapa while sipping on a cool one, snorkel in the ecological preserve, or use our kayaks and Wave Runners. It is a full day of doing exactly what you came here to do.
   It does not matter if you are a well traveled and serious fisherman, or it is your first time to Mexico and first time fishing in salt water. Our personal attention to your needs and skill level will ensure you a fantastic experience.

The Fleet
   The sport fishing fleet we use in our operations is moored and embarks from Puerto Mio in Zihuatanejo Bay. It consists of 8 boats that are operated by the best captains on the Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo coast and we can target any specie of fish you wish to pursue. We are permitted, insured, and have all the proper safety equipment, including marine radios.    Like all the other sport fishing boats in the fleet that embark from the Municipal Pier in Zihuatanejo or Marina Ixtapa, if it is not specifically stated, your transportation to and from the hotel by taxi, lunch and live bait must be provided for or paid for by the client. They fish a 7 to 8 hour day with the boats leaving at 7:00 in the morning and returning around 2:00 in the afternoon.

 

Agua Azul
the AGUA AZUL

~ The Agua Azul ~

   Owned and operated by Captain Angel (Mecate) Cortés. This 36 foot cruiser is powered by two dependable Perkins diesels and has adequate room to fish 5 to 6 people. The "Agua Azul" is a trawler class boat with a cruise speed of 10 knots that raises fish better than any style of boat in the area.
   Captain Mecate is 44 years old and has fished these waters all his life. He specializes in fishing for the exotic sailfish and works the areas 5 to 15 miles out of Zihuatanejo Bay. He will produce fish in quantity and it is not unusual for him to be high boat in the overall Zihuatanejo fleet on a consistent basis. Captain Mecate will give you the best possible chance for you to experience first hand the fight of one of these spectacular acrobatic gamefish.
   The "Agua Azul" rents for $350 per day and includes quality tackle, cut bait, beverages, drinking water, ice and fishing licenses.

Intruza
the INTRUZA

~ The Intruza ~

   Owned and operated by Captain Alberto (Chiquis) Hernandez. The "Intruza" is a 34 foot twin diesel powered Radon cruiser, with an extremely wide beam and a spacious cabin, the "Intruza" ensures a very comfortable ride for up to six passengers under any conditions.
   Chiquis is one of the best captains in the area and year round, even though he is not a perfect 100% to catch the targeted species, he is as close to a guaranteed thing as you can get.
   The "Intruza" rents for $380 a day including 1st class tackle, cut bait, beverages, drinking water, ice, and fishing license.

Vamanos
the VAMANOS

~ The Vamonos ~

   Captain Jaime Morales Cortez owns 3 Bertram cruisers, ranging from 31 to 35 feet. It does not matter if you are on the "Vamonos", "Vamonos II", or the "Vamonos III"... these diesel powered cruisers will give you a great day on the water.
   When Jaime is not himself at the helm, his personally selected and trained captains will put you on the fish. Like most of the best captains fishing here, with several charters a week, they get their information as to the hottest fishing areas from their own on the water experiences.
   The cruisers rent for $375 to $400 a day and include 1st class tackle, cut bait, drinking water, beverages, ice, and licenses.

~ The Tequila and Yuri ~

   The "Tequila" and "Yuri" are 26 foot pangas. The "Tequila" is a family panga, captained by either Efreín or his brother Orlando Hernandez and the "Yuri" is captained by owner Ramiro Fuentes.
   Renting a panga is an economical way to go for a couple of people fishing the very same species as the bigger boats. The amenities are not there, but you will get the same gamefish and have just as much a fight because the fish only feels the hook in its mouth and cares nothing about anything else.
   The panga is the mainstay of the entire fishing industry in Mexico and to fish on a panga is an experience that should be tried by every adventurous fisherman. The "Tequila" and "Yuri" rent for $190 per day, including quality tackle, cut bait, drinking water, ice, beverages, and licenses.

   If you wish to make a reservation, a 1/2 deposit must be made at least two days in advance of the charter and I will go to your hotel to pick it up. It would be better for a guaranteed confirmation of the date by mailing a personal check or money order of at least $50.00 to the U.S. Bank in Temecula, California. (I will give you all the info by e-mail). Then I can come by your hotel at 6:00 in the evening, two days prior to the charter, to pick up the balance of the 1/2 deposit.
   I have often picked clients for the "Cabo" up at the airport when it is not included in their hotel package and/or give them a mini tour of the area to get them dialed in to places to eat, money exchange, shopping, etc. I find that it is also a good time meet each other, finalize plans and deposits.
